My accordion actually came today, think its the greatest thing in the world!

I havent posted here in ages. We've been looking at a lot of pyramids.

This photo looks shopped or painted or something, but it was just my buggered up photography skills hard at work. It took about 10 minutes of me swearing and rolling around in the snow to even get the fucking thing to focus....but it was worth it I think. Castle howard pyramid, theres another one there that I cant find a photo of at all but we'll go back when it isnt minus 5 and really freaking misty.

obsessed atm with pyramids, its a good off centre focus. I sometimes feel a bit weird, like we're pilgrims to a force we dont even have a name for. We seem to all appreciate it though so thats good I guess.

The solstice sunrise...actually by time we dragged saff up the hill we were late but you cant tell from the photographs. Plus we saw the sunrise as we drove up to harewood and it was gorgeous, like fire in the sky. Everyone else moaned but it was so much fun! Winter solstice always beats summer solstice.

The star pyramid at stirling in scotland, dedicated to religious freedom. I'm enjoying having a focus anyway, to try and make sense of everything I love via this totally bizarre geometrical decentralization. They are pretty stunning too.

MARVEL at the shiny shiny accordion which briony got me off ebay! MARVEL! Its so shiny and full of diamontes, it will not fit the folky intentions at all that we have but then, neither will we. We'll have to create a new kind of disco folk. yeah.

16th August at the brudenell social in hyde park, leeds - 1pm - 10pm

earlier in the day we will have:
Bring and Buy sale with japanese fashion stall with handmade craft items and limited art prints, plus general bric or brac stalls for bargins galore! An artist has also kindly offered to come to do portraits on the day. Also homemade cupcakes, tea and maid cafe service for refreshments.From 5pm onwards we will have bands playing!

Big thanks to those who already donated, we've had such an awesome response and the lolita stall is going to be fabulous on the day :D we've even got jsks, skirts and brand items for sale!
we have quite a few volunteers now for helping out with the maid cafe and bring and buy but if anyone else is interested we will almost definitely need more on the day. Or if anyone just wants to come along thats great too just let me know and i can supply directions etc. I also have a3 posters and flyers now if anyone thinks they can help promote the event?

we had these through the post before we went away too, how adorable are they? I think im going to have to stop my sister from buying them all though...

In memory of my beautiful mum susie smith

I want to raise money for Marie Curie cancer care because although mum didnt get to experience the hospice it would have been so much better for her and us if she had done, and people dont realise how important hospice care is until its too late. Hospitals are not the best places for a dignified or comfortable death and more beds should be created in hospices.

16th August 2009 at the brudenell social club, Hyde park, Leeds
1pm - 10pm - bands from 5pm

I need volunteers to help with the tea and cakes, I thought it would be cute to have Lolitas in aprons serving tea and cakes, if anyone is willing to help out I have lots of spare aprons! Also if anyone wants to help out with the bring and buy aspect we could really do with a hand setting up at the start of the day. If anyone wants to donate general bric a brac, clothes, craft items etc that would be awesome, I was hoping to have a lolita themed stall and I'd be happy to display flyers for your business.

If anyone needs any futher details as regards to donating, volunteering or if you need directions to the venue let me know!

so mum starts chemo tomorrow, thankfully. I was worried because she said she wouldnt have anymore, but i guess you dont know how you'll feel till you get to it. Also shes moving in with nana which is a HUGE worry gone, nana will always look after her even if shes a bit of a loony. But not the same kind of loony as dad, i used to have horrifying nightmares that he'd beaten her up again or killed her and it was too close to the truth. I know hes not 100% evil but i still dont think hes past beating us to death in our sleep.

I went back to the doctors today to get the back to work note but they signed me off work for another two weeks, i feel a bit useless but im thankful really, im not sleeping great so im glad to have the time off.

God i have to be less whiny. Its sungs birthday this weekend, i dont think we are doing much but we'll probably go to wendyhouse cos we havent been in ages and its fairly cheap. Its a good excuse to dress up! hopefully we can drag some mations down.

we did a Neolithic Vs Victorian thing at the weekend, the devils arrows definitely outshone the viaduct in thornton. Truely spectacular! The lonely one in the trees seemed cut off until you looked back along the alignment, then it looked fine.

we saw the thornborough henges too, im glad we came to see it before the beltane fest, im not sure if it would be good to go to....maybe...anyway the henges were gorgeous, i loved the northern one. It follows the alignment of orions belt, how awesome.

its amazing...you feel so close to the sky there! The wind is kind of scurried into the middle by the changes to the landscape, and you are already high up.

I feel like poo cos of my head, so im struggling to pass the time today.

we're going to london on the 20th and coming back on the 22nd, i think we may try to go out on the friday night now since charl says there are more alternative nights then. Thats fine anyway, we just have to try and switch the day for our make up thing. Plus i guess it means we have two days worth of things we can do!

My skin is loads better now thanks to lush! I was having a good month of horrible winter skin and i switched to using ultra bland and the enzymion moisterizer and love lettuce a couple of days a week and its so much better. I cant decide if the enchanted eye cream ive been using has made a difference but it cant be doing any harm.

Ive ordered a load of poster prints and large prints from snapfish, i thought id try them out and if they sucked i'd try snappysnaps. Its mums birthday and she kind of requested a photo of me and briony so i used it as an excuse to get £30's worth of stuff. I also got her an amber pendant from hippypottermouse, and an amber bracelet. She likes amber! me and briony spotted the cutest moon pendants in hippypottermouse and they convinced us we had to get them....they are so cute! I'll try and get a good photo of them soon.

Druids' rocks

We went to the druids' rocks today, twas pretty awesome. If im ever hard up for a photo location this place would be pretty grand, its quite a drive but a) no windows to climb through b) no security guards and c) tis in fair Yorkshire!

Its pretty photogenic all things considering, check out the faux sacrificial altar! Oneupmanship on fake tudor, fake iron age, oh yeaaahh....

Also we watched a programme with francis pryor in again which was fucking ace, talking about WWII relics as modern archeology, I love him so much. I want to write to him and ask him sad questions about seahenge and how could i please work for him but lol, it would be sad and pointless. The programme also gave us some good ideas for our military outfit photos, as well as primo exploring tips. We thought spurn head was only interesting for its awesome bunker! Oh no, its got a network of tunnels leading from beach defences and pill boxes to some seriously cool anti tank trenches, and we didnt even know they were there...tunnels!! I love tunnels so much.

the toothy looking rock from the twelve apostles lines up pretty well for the solstice, maybe next year!

the circle is pretty big, and one of the nicer ones...the view is unreal, its really high up at that point. Its not in fantastic condition but considering its visited quite a bit its ok.

weird cup and rings, i have no idea what to make of it, i like the lines around it!

ilkley moor is so not as scary as i thought it would be, i read some description which made it out to be really fucking spooky...its not, the carvings are like little notes and the cairns are solemn but pretty.

we asked chalotte from the devils jukebox if we could take a photo of her looking so amazing and also pregnant! It gives us hope that maybe when we get knocked up we might just look somewhere near as lovely as she does. Also, edwardian empire line dresses = the way forward for pregnancy wear.

all of the devils jukebox looked lovely of course, except nick who genuinely looked and sounded rather too ill to be doing a gig. Still, he managed!

I just bought a lot of my xmas stuff from ASOS cos im poor and i found some fairly cute stuff, hopefully my sister wont mind a second lot of disney couture stuff (shes tinkerbell mad) and then i only have to buy saffie something and jeff something and maybe james and shelleys boy. Everyone else can sod off, im just too poor.

I wish id taken photos of our yule-y outfits from the other day, but we had a crying fest before we went out and our makeup was a bit down our faces so its probably for the best, we'll wear them again for actual yule no doubt.

we viewed the most gorgeous house yesterday that was too far away from leeds, and some pretty cute ones today, one cottage that was all over the place on different floors! The downstairs was awesome but it needed the kitchen and two of the bedrooms knocking through some stud walls to make a big kitchen diner and one big bedroom. I had my hopes up for the horsforth cemetary lodge but its been empty for a while and the boys cant look past minor repair work. me and briony tend to look over major repair work though! I think horsforth would be cool though, its rural and close to leeds and pretty nice on the whole.
house hunting is fun, so much more so when you are buying....you get to imagine how to decorate! and old houses are always full of exciting things.

in other news....pink and blue fluffy things are in. I bought some roxy yeti boots and i plan to wear them with sweet lolita. true story. PACKT weekend this weekend, its the devils jukebox gig on friday AND nicks birthday AND im supposed to see alex AND its the idioteque club night then on saturday its PDs rave which we have to somehow attend...maybe involving being completely sober and driving back, woo! still i plan to get wrecked friday night anyway. I dont know what to wear, i want to look pretty for once, ive been so fat and gross and hideous of late.

in other news still jeff may be buying a house and then we live with them, which may sound a bit odd but we think it'll work. For some reason it doesnt seem like it wont and we have both had bad experiances previously, i guess we already pretty much live together anyway! jeff had decided he liked old decrepid houses too which is awesome cos me and briony like those :)

Im trying to buy an accordion, and i might ring the woman who gives lessons who works at hobgoblin. I should really have singing lessons again instead but bleh i always hated them. scales and exercises are so tedious.

I missed like three ebay auctions i wanted to bid on yesterday...i forgot id signed up for bid snipe...gay....i dont know whether to sit it out and wait for relisting or ask them if theyd consider an offer, they might try and rip me off! I signed up for some bid snipe thing but putting my ebay account details in scares the bejesus out of me. I guess i just wait....waiting for ebay auctions messes with my head.

Doll tor was super cute in the dark too, we played with torches for a while!

we had the best food ever at the druids inn too.

Sung and Rob climbed the andle stone which was really fucking high....
